Married my forever partner, Gretchen Buckner Schnieber July 12, 1975 in Billings and on that same day moved to Kalispell. In August 1984 our family moved to Salem, Oregon. Gretchen and I both retired in June '07- I taught Special Education students in Montana and Oregon for 32 years. Gretchen and I travel extensively in our Airstream trailer; moved to Las Cruces, NM and lived there for 8 years, returned to the Willamette Valley, Salem, Oregon Dec. 2015; Grandpa to two beautiful granddaughters and an active grandson. Love to travel, garden, do volunteer work, walk my rescue Golden Retriever Cooper, and an active member of South Salem Lions Club. I still love back packing with long time close friends every summer. I loved distance running from 10k's to ultra distance. (ran Boston in '83) Started road running and trails when our family lived in Kalispell. (Good memories running in Glacier Park in the Fall) Also, enjoyed cross country skiing and snow shoeing in Glacier and surrounding National Forests and Wilderness Areas. Started my teaching career at Columbia Falls School District. I also coached junior high basketball, high school distance events and cross country. I was the head coach for the Special Olympics team. (Elementary and Secondary athletes) A very rewarding and memorable opportunity. Both of our children were born in Kalispell. Our son and daughter attended public school in Salem. Together we experienced an awesome life in the Pacific Northwest! Our daughter Laurie and husband Nathan live in Albany, Oregon. Aaron presently resides in Colorado Springs. Colorado. Long time Oregon State University sports team fan. Go Beavs!
