Michael (Mike) Halligan

Could not afford to attend college after high school so I joined the Army and was lucky enough to become a lieutenant and serve as an Infantry Platoon Leader in Viet Nam from November 1969 to November 1970. After the military I attended U of Montana and received a BA in 1975, a Masters Degree in Public Administration in 1977 and a law degree in 1984. I served for 22 years in the Montana Senate and was a deputy county attorney in Missoula and had a private law practice for many years. I'm currently the Director of Corporate and Government Relations for the Washington Companies and the Executive Director of the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation based in Missoula. Married to Leslie for 32 years. Three sons.

During my senior year, got caught with another unnamed classmate carrying a half-full keg of beer down the hallway at Billings West. Ended up in Principal Wallace's office. He raised his voice at us and, thankfully, told us to take the keg back to one of our cars and all would be forgiven. That wouldn't happen today.
