Welton, Thomas G. "Tommy" Began his new journey on Monday, February 1, 2016 at the age of 66. Resident of Port Washington formerly of Montana. Beloved husband of Martha (nee Gooding) Welton. Loving father of Kristin Gamble and proud grandpa of Brody and Harley Gamble. Dear brother of Penny Slingerland, Mike (Micki) Welton and Rick Welton. Tom embraced the Gooding family as his own; Laurence (the late Virginia) Gooding, Jr.; Tom (Yolanda) Gooding, Katie (Tom) Sonnenberg, David (Suzanne) Gooding and uncle of Amy, T.J. and Jack. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Pat Welton. Further survived by other relatives and many great friends. Tommy began his life in Montana where he became a guy's guy and a pure athlete. He took his athletic ability to Arizona State where he played baseball and will be remembered as one of few players to play all 9 positions in one game. He was also a member of the 1969 ASU NCAA National Championship team. Here is also where he met Martha and began their 48 year adventure together. After spending a few years in the Minor leagues, he became a Major in the Army as an Artillery Man for 20 years. This is where he earned his tag line "Roger". After traveling the world, he moved back to Milwaukee and continued his love of sports with golf. The Bog became his new passion. He was one of the original employees who helped open the course and he continued on to spend 21 great years there as the heart and soul of the club. He also played in a number of golf tournaments; winning several Wisconsin Amateur events. While in Milwaukee, Tommy also became an avid Marquette Basketball fan. But above all, Tommy's love for family was unsurpassed. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will forever be missed! Knowing Tommy was like having a "hole in one" with every round, he was a true gift to this world! Family will greet friends on Thursday, February 11, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feerick Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 12, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 145 W. Church Street, Saukville, followed by a reception at the Bog.
