Candace "Candy" Elaine Christoferson Obituary
Candy Christoferson, age 75, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024 at Billings Clinic surrounded by her family. Candy was born on December 7, 1948 in Billings, Montana. Candy had two loves in her life, her family and horses. At a young age, Candy developed a love for horses. Along with her sister Sally, they would ride horses any time they could. They could be found rotating horses from ranches over the rims down into Alkali Creek for Dr. Morledge. This love developed into a natural gift for training the horses and then later teaching her children and granddaughters to ride and compete. Candy was an avid rider. She loved to barrel race, compete in omoskees, cutting with crowders, as well as team penning/sorting.
Candy married the love of her life, Bryan Christoferson, on August 3, 1968. They had four children, Jason, Pat, Dave and Sadie. When Bryan started their family plumbing business, Candy stayed at home caring for their children, but also worked alongside Bryan as the bookkeeper, secretary, and all-around organizer. Candy relished in taking any adventure with her family. The family spent extensive time in Cooke City and Silvergate, playing in and exploring the mountains. Candy loved to spend time riding in the Pryors. Candy enjoyed all of the wildflowers as it reminded her of her childhood. As the family continued to grow with the addition of granddaughters, Candy instilled these traditions in the next generation. Candy immersed herself in all of her granddaughters’ interests and activities. Candy was always present for sporting events, music programs, graduations, or horse competitions. Candy continually hosted family birthdays and holiday dinners at her home. Candy treasured seeing her family celebrating one another and laughing together.
Candy’s family can attest to the fact that she had the patience of a saint. Without exception, Candy was supportive, encouraging, wise and kind. Candy was proud and fiercely protective of her children, their spouses, and especially her precious granddaughters. Candy will be remembered as a selfless wife, mother, and grandmother who always had a smile, even when times were tough. Candy possessed a quiet strength and saw the good in everyone.
Candy is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Betty Jean Lamb, and her father and mother-in-law, Vern and Donna Christoferson.
Candy is survived by her husband Bryan; her children Jason (Melissa, Kira, Brooke); Pat (Amy, Ruby, Claire); Dave (Becca); and Sadie (Eric, Savannah, Jocelyn) all of Billings, Montana; and her sister Sally Houghton (Henry) of Sedro-Woolley, WA.
A Celebration of Life for Candy will be held on Sunday, September 15th at 4:30 p.m. at the Billings Saddle Club, 800 Alkali Creek Road. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Billings Saddle Club in honor of Candy.

Sorry to hear of another classmate passing on. I pray that she was a believer and had a personal relationship with our savior Jesus Christ. She will be missed by friends and family.
