BWHS Classmates:

What is your level of interest and willingness to attend a 60th Class Reunion three years from now in 2027?

The Class Committee met recently and discussed the challenges of hosting a 60th Reunion in Billings, say June 2027. The Committee recognizes a 60th Reunion would have to be an event 1) “Worth Coming To” and 2) “Affordable”.  The Class treasury currently has limited funds which if conserved could be committed to advance planning a 60th Reunion. In the foreseeable economy that wouldn’t go far enough in securing a venue space, catering, and entertainment comparable to Reunions past; there would have to be a per person charge in the $100-200 range depending on a one-night or two-night Reunion. Of course, the larger the number of attendees, the lower the per attendee cost which begs the question of trying to interest Senior High ’67 in joining us.

Caveat: Planning a 60th Reunion requires significant volunteer time by a few classmates. Someone, as yet unnamed, would have to step up as chair person; a volunteer for chair person would be welcomed sooner than later.  Remember, we’ll be 78-ish years old. A worst-case scenario is not getting sufficient attendees at a 60th Reunion to break even.

The current Class Committee members are committed to continuing to have the annual June 7 mini-reunions which have been attended since 2018 by 35-40 (includes spouses or guests), so if we decide not to have a formal 60th Reunion in 2027 we’ll plan to have a mini-reunion; up to now attendance on the mini-reunions has been limited to local and a few regional Classmates.
